ASEM 6 Summit logo
The ASEM 6 Summit had its own logo, which was used in conjunction with the visual designs for Finland’s EU Presidency. The logo appeared on all printed and audiovisual ASEM 6 Summit materials and on the official website.
The ideas behind the logo
The logo for the ASEM 6 Summit represents the cooperation process that brings together the EU Member States and the countries of East and Southeast Asia; it symbolises the dialogue between Governments.
The logo incorporates references to the clean lines of the lotus blossom, and to Asia and Europe. Transparent colours are used to convey openness. The blue represents the European Union, the yellow Asia and the red the common objectives of the summit. The centre of the logo features the Roman numeral X, to mark the tenth anniversary of the ASEM process.

The logo and visual designs are the work of graphic designer Timo Kuoppala, from the advertising agency Recommended Finland. A design competition for the logo was organised in 2005 and was open to design agencies.
